430th ORDNANCE TIRE REPAIR COMPANY IN LA LOUVIERE - 1
THE FIRST SIX OF THE ABOVE PHOTOS OF THE MEN OF THE 430th TIRE REPAIR COMPANY SHOW THE COMPANY ON THE MARCH INTO LA LOUVIERE.  IN THE MIDDLE PHOTOGRAPH DAD IS CALLING THE CADENCE.  NOTE THAT ALL OF THE TROOPS ARE ARMED WITH RIFLES AS THEY ARE IN A WAR ZONE AND ARE TRAINED AS A LIGHT INFANTRY RESERVE SHOULD THE NEED ARISE (WHICH ACCORDING TO DAD IT DID DURING THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE).  SEVERAL OFFICERS ARE SHOWN IN THE PHOTO WITH THE JEEP, INCLUDING LT. NESBITT (CENTER, HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK).  THE BOTTOM LEFT PHOTO SHOWS THE COMPANY IN FORMATION IN FRONT OF THE BUILDINGS WHERE THEY WERE BILLETED ( A SCHOOL IN LA LOUVIERE I WAS TOLD WHEN MOTHER AND i VISITED LA LOUVIERE WITH DADIN 1964).  THE BOTTOM ROW, MIDDLE PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS THE INSIDE OF THE FACTORY IN LA LOUVIERE WHERE THE MEN OF THE COMPANY DID THEIR WORK.  THE TIRE REBUILDING EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED ALONG THE LEFT WALL.

THE LAST PICTURE SHOWS THE UNIT BASKETBALL TEAM.  LT. NESBITT IS IN MILITARY UNIFORM, BACK ROW LEFT.  IT WOULD BE LOGICAL FOR HIM TO WORK WITH THE TEAM AS HE WAS AN OUTSTANDING BASKETBALL PLAYER AND CAPTAIN OF HIS HIGH SCHOOL TEAM.  FOR MORE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE UNIT'S WORK GO TO THE NEXT SCREEN.
